What is
Pokémon Monomyth?

Pokémon Monomyth is a fan-made Pokémon Emerald ROM hack by Team Monomyth, set in the Athanto region.

It is a separate adventure, not a guide to the original Emerald campaign. The game is distributed as a free patch for a legally obtained Emerald base, rather than as a standalone official Pokémon release.

New to ROM hacks? You apply the creators’ patch to your base game, then play the patched file with a supported emulator. Our how-to-play guide explains that route without hosting or asking for your game files.

Who are the Pokémon Monomyth starters?

The three starters are Marmroot (Grass), Crackliss (Fire/Poison) and Mishimizu (Water). Our guide compares their base forms and opening moves using third-party v1.0 records, with evolution names hidden behind optional spoiler disclosures.

Compare all three starters
Which starter should I choose for a first playthrough?

Our priority-focused pick is Mishimizu for Aqua Jet at level 14. Marmroot leads the trio in base Attack and HP; Crackliss leads in base Speed and Sp. Atk. These are opening-role suggestions from published data, not gameplay-tested boss results or a whole-game ranking.

Does Pokémon Monomyth support trading?

The official guide describes online trading through a special desktop mGBA and Celio Link setup, and real-hardware trading with a GBA Link Cable. Ordinary emulator support does not guarantee trading support. Monomyth cannot trade with official Generation 3 games.
